Many people host private conferences and have to go through the hastle of passing their codes around in order to get them started. And others would love to join them but don't know the codes. So they have to track down a friend to give them a code. Well, I have a few ideas that can make the process totally automated.
Introducing allow lists. Adding someone to your allow list would enable that person to benefit from the following options:
A. Pressing a certain key from the who's where list would allow you to receive the private code for that person's conference or the conference they are currently in.
B. Pressing a key from the who's where list would allow you to join that person's conference.
C. All users on your allow list will be invited to join any conference you join or create, provided both the creator of the conference and the person joining the conference allow the invitations to be sent. (There would be options to enable or disable these invitations.)
Ok, let me elaborate on this one, since that might confuse people.
Senario A: Kev creates a private conference. All people on his allow list are asked to join and/or can join him by pressing the appropriate keys from Who's Where. Perfect.
Senario b: Kev creates a conference but disables the allow list feature which allows people to see what conference he's in and/or join it. Brook is allowing people to see where she is and join her, but Kev doesn't want anyone without the code joining. Chelsea tries to join Brook, but Kev's rule of no one joining unless they have the code overrides Brook's allow list feature.
Senario C: Kev creates a conference and enables the allow list feature. Brook joins but disables the allow list feature on her end. Anyone can join Kev if they know where he is, but Brook cannot be joined even if Kev is allowing people on his allow list to join.
Now for the invitation options. I'm proposing that invitations be sent to people on your allow list either when you create a conference, join a conference, both, or never. THis is private conferencing of course.
Maybe I'm going crazy, but tell me your thoughts, guys.
I rather like it, though with my paging idea that I proposed a while back, I'm not sure how codable it'd be. I'll point out the idea to the rest of stafff though.
It's an excellent idea, though unfortuneately I see a lot of drama starting over it. We'll just have to see...

I saw a lot of drama starting over it myself. That's why I suggested that the creators of conferences and those joining conferences be allowed to control the features. That way, no one is joining conferences who shouldn't join. *points above to senarios to clarify point*

Well it seems like everyone likes it yet I still dont get it all the way! yeah, I think I can see where this might come in handy, but the key part being the allow list options, so that people dont get people in conferences they dont want them in.
